The best all-round swim on the island — clear water, real snorkeling, and a calmer crowd than Tawaen.
The Beaches of Koh Larn — all 8, ranked best first
Eight beaches, one honest order. We rank for the quality of the swim, the water and the day you actually have — amenities help, crowds hurt. Here's the whole coast, best first.

Koh Larn has eight swimming beaches. We rank Samae first for the best all-round swim and snorkel with a calmer crowd; Tien is the quiet, scenic pick; Tawaen is the busiest and best-equipped, and the easiest for first-timers and families.

The quiet beauty — scenic, low-key, and the one regulars name when no one's listening.
The headline beach — biggest, busiest, and the easiest place to do everything in one day.
A small, pretty white-sand cove on the south — keep an eye on your snacks, the monkeys are nearby.
Secluded and undeveloped — come for the quiet, bring what you need.
The handy local beach near the village — easy to reach, not the prettiest.
A remote cape on the east — get-away-from-it-all quiet, low on services.
A small, low-key strip — fine for a quiet pause, not a destination in itself.

How we rank the beaches
Ranked, not rated. Our order rewards the quality of the swim, the clarity of the water, and the day you actually have there — not the size of the car park. Amenities help, crowds hurt. We re-rank every issue.
- Water & swim · Highest
- Clarity, calm, how good the actual swim is, and how safe the entry feels.
- Snorkeling · High
- Visibility and fish around the rocks — judged against Koh Larn, not the Andaman.
- Crowd & vibe · High
- How packed it gets and how much that hurts the experience.
- Food & facilities · Medium
- Loungers, shade, toilets, restaurants and shops within reach.
- Access · Medium
- How easy it is to reach from the pier — a factor, never the decider.
Two reasonable people could order the middle of the list differently — that's fine. The point is we make the call and show our reasoning. More on our editorial standards.
A word on Na Baan
We visit. We don't sell placement.
We pay our own way — every ferry, every lounger, every plate of seafood. Nothing on this guide is sponsored, and no operator, resort or restaurant can buy a higher ranking. Businesses can pitch us to be visited; they can't pay for position. That's the whole deal, and it's why you can trust the order.
