The island can be a 40-baht ferry and a free swim, or a money pit of add-ons. Here's how to do Koh Larn cheaply.

A great Koh Larn day can cost very little: the public ferry is about 40฿ each way, swimming and viewpoints are free, and village food is cheap. Withdraw cash on the mainland to dodge ATM fees, bring your own water, snacks and snorkel mask, take shared songthaews rather than charters, and eat at Na Baan's village shops or stalls rather than only the beachfront tables. Skip the pricey, short watersports unless they're a must, and you'll have a full day by the sea for a fraction of what the add-ons would cost.
